Mary Alverne Jerry

August 21, 1926 – June 1, 2022

Mary Alverne Jerry, 95, of Tylertown, Mississippi passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2022. She was born Saturday, August 21, 1926 in El Dorado, Arkansas.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2022 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Hartman-Hughes Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Lawson, Arkansas on Friday, June 3, 2022 at 2:00 PM. Rev. Ronnie Robbins will officiate. Hartman Hughes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Jerry was a member of Centerville Baptist Church of Dexter. She loved making porcelain dolls, quilts, smock pillows, crocheting, and sewing. Mrs. Jerry also enjoyed growing and arranging flowers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger McCall Jerry; son Dwight McCall Jerry;  daughter Mary Jane Jerry; father Plez Orby McWilliams;  mother Lela Mae Goode McWilliams;  3 brothers; and 4 sisters.

Survivors include her son James Jerry (Janice); granddaughters Kawanda Shay McAlister (Jacob) and Marla Gaye Mitchell (Steven); great-grandchildren Brenna Mae McAlister, Nora Mitchell, Nolan Mitchell, and Vivienne Mitchell; along with a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and loving family.

Pallbearers will be Randy Jerry, Jacob McAlister, Corey Jerry, and Horace Branch.

Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Loftin and James Farris.
