Mary Elizabeth "Libby" Holmes, 73 of Jayess, MS passed away Sunday, August 31, 2025. She was born Sunday, November 18, 1951 in Franklinton, Louisiana to the late Dorman and Juanita Corkern. Along with her parents she is also preceded in death by her sisters Patricia Hanna and Diane Corkern. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Libby enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren, painting furniture, mowing the yard, and tending to her flowers.

Survivors include her husband, Lynn Holmes;  sons, James Riley (Misty) and David Harding;  her favorite child and canine companion Sophie; grandchildren, Therin Riley, Saydi Harding, Maddie Harding, Gavin Harding, Charlotte Harding, and Peyton Harding; step grandchildren Cassidy Penton and Ashleigh Morse; great step-grandchildren Tristyn Penton and Greyson Morse; along with a host of loving friends and family.
