Funeral services for Mrs. Mildred Beard Brumfield, 81, will be held at 11 A. M. on Monday, April 16, 2018 at Union Church with Reverend Jimmy Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Union Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Brumfield passed away at Southwest MS Regional Medical Center in McComb, Mississippi on Thursday, April 12, 2018. She was born June 12,1936 in Tylertown, Mississippi to the late Frank Fontaine and Mamie Dillon Beard. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Harold W. Brumfield.

She was a member of Union Baptist Church and a homemaker. Mrs. Brumfield was a voracious reader, and an award-winning poet through Crown Publishing. She also enjoyed working in her yard and with her flowers.


Survivors include her children Debra Angela (Rick) Tope, Carolyn Louise Brumfield, Harold Timothy (Shelia) Brumfield, and Mark Brumfield; brother Jerry (Grace) Beard; sister-in-law Frances (Marion) McKenzie; grandchildren Lisa (Scott) Bollinger, Andy Tope, and Eric Tope; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at Union Creek Church on Mnday, April 16, 2018 from 10:00 A.M. until service time there at 11 A.M.
