Funeral services for Mrs. Norma Jean Cooper Harris, 72, will be held at 10 A.M on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at Mesa Baptist Church with the Reverends Ron Ullman and Matt Robinson officiating. Burial will be in the Rushing Cemetery.
Mrs. Harris passed away at her residence in Tylertown on Saturday, March 31, 2018. She was born June 9, 1945 in Plainville, Illinois to the late Virgil Marion and Ruth Olive Rodgers Cooper. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband George Mitchell Harris, Sr.
She was a member of Mesa Baptist Church, a homemaker, and had operated the Little League Ballpark Concession Stand. She enjoyed sewing, shopping, and spending time with her family and her puppy, Peanut.
Survivors include her children Ruth Ann (Ronnie) Ivy, Debby (Robert) Easley, George (Anna) Harris, Jr., Mari Ann (Jamie) Sistrunk; brothers Charles Whitaker, and Donnie Whitaker; sisters Joyce Allensworth, Kitty Crabill, and Barbara Sue McEwen; grandchildren Jason Ivy, Chris Ivy, Heather Brumfield, Tami Tolar, Monty (Maria) Barnes, Mitchell (Holly) Harris, Audrey Harris (Joey) Collins, Norma Jean Sistrunk and Shelby Carpenter, and J C Sistrunk; great-grandchildren Lexi Brumfield, Alli Brumfield, Bret Brumfield, Hali Brumfield, Zandyn Tolar, Bo Barnes, Maria Frendanda Calleros-Castillo, Blaine Barnes, Mia Barnes, Maddox Harris, Mirabelle Carpenter, and James Thomas Carpenter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jason Ivy, Chris Ivy, Monty Barnes, Mitchell Harris, Bret Brumfield, and Zandyn Tolar.
Visitation will be at Mesa Baptist Church on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 from 6 – 9 P.M. and on Wednesday from 8:00 A.M. until service time there at 10:00 A.M.
