Norma Jean Van Norman Ryals, 97 of Tylertown, MS passed away Saturday, December 13, 2025. She was born Thursday, September 13, 1928 in Lincoln, MS to the late Elgin Hezakiah Summers and Mattie Lee Booker Summers. Along with her parents she is also preceded in death by her first husband Charles Van Norman, Sr. and second husband Elmore Ryals; sons, Charles Ray Van Norman, Jr. and Randall Ryals; daughter, Diane Van Norman Blackwell Eynon; brothers, Vernon Summers and Billy Ray Summers; sister, Evelyn Summers Lewis; son-in-law, Larry Eynon; daughters-in-law, Cindy Ryals, Wendy Ryals, and Millie Van Norman.

Survivors include her sons, William Van Norman, Raymond Van Norman (Michelle), Darrell Ryals, and Allen Ryals (Michele); daughters, Marsha Hodges (Johnny), Maria Prine, Beth Cowart (Jim), and Deborah Van Norman; special granddaughter Christy Morgan; along with a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends, and loving family.

Mrs. Ryals and her husband, Elmore, owned and operated Ryals Tube and Canoe Rental for 30 years. She enjoyed playing dominos, cooking, crocheting, and listening to bluegrass gospel music.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Hartman-Hughes Funeral Home, 412 Beulah Ave., Tylertown, MS. Visitation will also be held on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 form 10:00 AM until funeral service at 11:00 AM at Hartman-Hughes Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Rushing Cemetery. Rev. Clay Spinks and Brother Matt Robinson will officiate. Hartman Hughes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Blackwell, William Van Norman, Allen Van Norman, Kurt Bonds, Zack Van Norman, and Billy Van Norman.

Honorary pallbearers will be Leighton Blackwell and Chad Sm ith.
