Mr. McDaniel passed away at Wesley Medical Center in Hattiesburg, MS on Thursday, March 4, 2021. He was born October 8, 1942 in Magnolia, MS to the late Lucy and Carmen McDaniel. Along with his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife of 50 years Mary Joyce McDaniel; brother Stanley McDaniel; sisters-in-law Marie McDaniel and Mary Lou McDaniel; daughter-in-law Cindy McDaniel; brother-in-law Benny Baughman; nephews Carmen Joe McDaniel and Kenny Stelly; and family friend Leroy Wallace.
Mr. Norman was a great husband, father and grandfather. When he was young, he learned to play the guitar by ear and used that talent in a band made of family and friends. He was a businessman who owned a Whataburger in Baton Rouge, LA and later owned the Eastside Chevron in Tylertown, MS. But his passion for working on tractors was his special trade. Mr. Norman was always joking around which was his way of expressing he liked you. One of his favorite pastimes was to drag race. His number one companion after his wife passed away was his dog Pee Wee. Wherever he went so did Pee Wee.
Survivors include his sons David (Natalie Magee) McDaniel and Dwayne (Theresa) McDaniel; grandchildren Brandie (Andy) Rushing and Dale (Ashley Dunnam) McDaniel; great- grandchildren Haylee Rushing, Hallee Rushing, Hanalee Rushing, and Baby Brantley McDaniel; step great-grandchild Banyon Dunnam; siblings Toney McDaniel, Ann Baughman, Tommy (Dorothy) McDaniel, and Dickey (Jo Ann) McDaniel; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and loving family.
