Obituary

Ottis E Harvey, 86, of Sartinville, MS passed away September 16, 2018 at his residence.

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at Hartman – Hughes Funeral Home in Tylertown from 10:00 a.m. until services at 11 in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in the Sartinville Cemetery. Brother Gary Harper and Reverend Mike Anderson will officiate.

Mr. Harvey was born April 28, 1932, to James Homer and Lela Holmes Harvey. He was a member of Sartinville United Methodist Church. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather and loved spending time with his family.

He retired from the United States Air Force and MS department of Agriculture and Commerce. Mr. Harvey served his country in Vietnam and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal August 24, 1962, for his meritorious service in Vietnam. He also was a member of the American Legion Post #56 Tylertown, MS and a mason of Capitol Lodge 600 Byram, MS.

Mr. Harvey is survived by his spouse Wessie Harvey, daughter Beverly (Wesley "Sput") Harvey, grandchildren Lauren (Chad)Cranford, Garrett May, and Chancey Harvey. Great- grandchildren are Grant Carter, Macey Cranford, and Benson Cranford. Along with a host of nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents and 11 brothers and sisters.

Pallbearers will be Ken Ainsworth, Jay Boyd, Jimmy Foil, Jim Harvey, Joe Harvey, and Lynn Harvey.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Ottis Harvey's name may be made to Sartinville United Methodist Church.
