Funeral services for Mr. Ralph Martin, 75, of Tylertown, will be held at 1 P. M on Friday, April 20, 2018 at Capps Funeral Home with the Reverends Mark Wicker and Justin Knight officiating. Burial will be in the Tylertown Cemetery.
Mr. Martin passed away at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, Mississippi on Wednesday, April 18, 2018. He was born June 12, 1942 in Mobile, Alabama to the late Herbert Edwin and Willie Mae Rimes Martin. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister Vera Mae Vince Dier.
He was a member of Tylertown Baptist Church. Mr. Martin enjoyed working and had worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator, Tour Bus Driver, Dairy Farmer, Trucking Company Owner, a Pipeliner, and a Peanut Farmer, and a Soybean Farmer. He also enjoyed umpiring and was a Certified ASA Umpire. Ralph was a family man and loved being with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Brenda Barron Martin; son Byran "Bird" Martin (Debbie "Bo); daughters Beverly Rose Jackson, Dawn Peterson (John), and Raven Wilson (Landon); brother Vince "Buddy" Martin (Diane); grandchildren Pam Sumrall, Lucas Martin, Sydney Stogner Byrd (Ryan), Rebecca Myers, Garrett Peterson, Mason Wilson, and Evan Wilson; great-grandchildren Kaylea and Kolbie Sumrall.
Pallbearers will be Lucas Martin, Landon Wilson, John Peterson, Garrett Peterson, Ryan Byrd, ad Daniel Martin.
Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Webster Boyd, Bruce Boyd, Stanley Brumfield, and Richard Dunaway.
Visitation will be at Capps Funeral Home on Friday, April 20, 2018 from 11:00 A.M. until service time there at 1:00 P.M.
