Graveside services for Mrs. Mavis Sumrall, 95, will be held at the Crystal Springs Baptist Church Cemetery on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 3 P.M.  The Reverend Don Armagost will officiate.   Mrs. Sumrall, a native of Tylertown, died at the Groves Nursing Home in Columbia on Tuesday, May 29, 2018.

She was born April 15, 1923 in Walthall County, Mississippi, the daughter of the late Henry and Lonie Jackson Johnson.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, John William Sumrall; brothers:  Percy Johnson, Jewell Johnson, and Harvey Johnson;  sisters:  Cassie McElroy, Irma McPhail, Mattie Johnson, Carrie Johnson; and Versie Mae Breeland; and one granddaughter-in-law, Amber Sumrall.  She was a seamstress at Haspel's Garment Factory in Tylertown and was an active member of Crystal Springs Baptist Church for over 70 years.  She enjoyed reading, fishing, gardening, and especially loved taking care of her grandchildren.

Mrs. Sumrall is survived by one son, Randy and wife, Beverly, Sumrall.  Two grandchildren:  Shane and Shea Sumrall.  Three Great-grandchildren:  Abby, Connor, and Slade Sumrall.  Several nieces and nephews.

Visitation at Capps Funeral Home from 2 until 2:30 P.M. on Saturday, June 2, 2018.

Pallbearers will be:  Neil Breland, Tommy Johnson, John McElory, Shelton Stogner, Scottie Luper, and Kevin Sumrall.  Honorary pallbearers will be:  Dana Sumrall, Buck Johnson, Jewell Holmes, Danny Johnson, and Glen Johnson.
