Funeral services for Roger William Rushing, 73, of Tylertown, Mississippi will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at Capps Funeral Home with Reverend Mark Wicker and Reverend J. M. Whittington officiating. Burial will be in the Ford Rushing Family Cemetery.

Mr. Rushing passed away at his residence in Tylertown, Mississippi on Saturday, August 21, 2021. He was born March 27, 1948 in Tylertown, Mississippi to the late Ora and Ford Rushing. Along with his parents he was also preceded in death by sons Roger William Rushing II and Ira Gabriel Rushing; siblings Glen Rushing, Barbara Ann Rankin, and Ronnie Rushing; and grandson Ethan Rushing.

Mr. Roger was always the first to lend a helping hand to his family and neighbors that he loved so dearly. He enjoyed animals, gardening, and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years Mary Rushing; son Jamie (Dawn Stinson) Rushing; grandchildren Alexis Rushing, Gabrielle Kirkland, Ford Kirkland, and Katelyn Kirkland; sisters Joan Rushing Stewart and Janet Rushing Cook; along with a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and loving family.

Pallbearers are Nelson McKenzie, Jerry Wayne Brumfield, Lindel Rushing, Randall Terry, and Zackary Dunaway.

Visitation will be at Capps Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 from 9:00 AM until service at 11:00 AM.
