Funeral services for Mrs. Roxie Virginia Dyson, 88, will be held at 2 P.M. on Sunday, June 3, 2018 from the Union Baptist Church.  The Reverend Jimmy Smith will officiate.  Mrs. Dyson died at her residence on Wednesday, May 30, 2018.

She was born September 9, 1929 in Shaw, Mississippi, the daughter of the late Clemeat Walker and Odena Isabell Burt Lancaster.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Howard Dyson; two sons:  Calvin Nathaniel and Michael Walker Dyson; a Geat-grandchild, Ashley, and eleven brothers and sisters.

Mrs. Dyson was a LPN and had worked for, the Doctors Crawford and Dr. Jim McLain.  She was very active in her church and community affairs including being a member of Union Baptist Church; Order of the Easter Star 165; Mississippi Homemaker Volunteers; the Girl Scouts and the  Cub Scouts; the  4-H, and was a founding member of the Tylertown Horseman's Association.  She read to many Kindergarten and 1 ^st graders who affectionately knew her as "Mamaw".   She also enjoyed gardening, sewing, and reading.

She is survived by one daughter, Faith Roxianne Dyson.  Grandchildren:  Natalie, Jessica, Danielle, Erica, Larkin, Sarah, and Robbie.  9 Great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be:  Larkin Albarado, Charles Harrell, Brandon Knippers, Robert Dyson, James Casey, and Christian Lopes.  Alternate pallbearers will be Delbert Wood and Michael Edward Knippers.

Burial with Easter Star Services will be in the Tylertown Cemetery.  Hartman-Hughes Capps Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation on Saturday, June 2, 2018 from 5 till 8 P.M. at Capps Funeral Home.
