Mrs. Shirley R. Dufrene, 93 of Loranger, LA passed away Tuesday, March 01, 2022 at the Landmark Nursing Center of Hammond, LA. She was born Tuesday, August 07, 1928 in Westwego, Louisiana.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 05, 2022 from 11:00 AM until service at 12 noon at Hartman-Hughes Funeral Home in 412 Beulah Ave., Tylertown, MS.  Burial will follow in Tylertown Cemetery II in Tylertown, MS.  Pastor Mark Long will officiate. Hartman Hughes Capps Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Dufrene was a lady of strong Christian faith with an outstanding work ethic. She enjoyed working in her flower beds and keeping her house tidy. The time spent with her children and grandchildren was her greatest blessing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Nolan Dufrene Sr.; daughter Patricia Gottschalck; father Arsend Gaubert; mother Cecile Gulloit Gaubert; and son-in-law Damian Gele.

Survivors include her sons Nolan Dufrene Jr. (Donna) and Donald Dufrene (Kathy); daughters Janice Dupre (Ruben) and Cynthia Gele; grandchildren Stacey Jenkins (Ronnie), Ruben Dupre III (Nichole), Reneil Milewski (Mike), Daniel Gottschalck (Laura), Stephanie Morel (Donald), Nolan Dufrene III (Brittany), Derek Dufrene, Angel McBeth (John), Jeremy Overmier (Shelly), Charles Gele, and Katelynn Blackwell; 15 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; and son-in-law Neil Gottschalck.

Pallbearers will be Ruben Dupre III, Daniel Gottschalck, Jeremy Overmier, Charles Gele, John McBeth, and Nolan Dufrene III.
