A mighty woman of God has finished her race.

On August 27, 2026, at the age of 87, Jean Bozeman passed away peacefully, surrounded by her children. Her legacy of faith, love, and perseverance will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and all who were blessed to know her.

She truly never met a stranger, for she always made people feel as if they were included in her family. She had a vivacious, outgoing personality and seldom missed speaking to everyone in a room.

Jean was born on October 13, 1938, to Carlos and Maggie Mae White in LaGrange, Georgia. At 21, she was introduced to a tall, handsome man in uniform, Ted Bozeman. The two of them fell in love instantly and were married in December 1959. They were married for 49 years and raised three children on the family farm in Sartinville, Mississippi.

Her various career accomplishments included co-manager of Bozeman Family Farm with her husband, health and wellness representative, executive assistant at WDAM Television, as well as an independent insurance agent.

She enjoyed sewing, landscape painting, playing the piano, and baking her renowned cinnamon rolls.

There may be people in this life who give up in times of trial and cease to pray in times of uncertainty. Jean Bozeman was not one of those people.

She encouraged everyone to never quit, for all things are possible with God. At 16, Jean accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior. Her close relationship with Jesus was the source of her hope and led her to share that hope with others. She was a gifted Bible teacher, a powerful prayer warrior, and a mentor to many.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ted Bozeman; her parents, Carlos and Maggie Mae White; her brother, Chuck Puckett; sister-in-law, Peggy Puckett; in-laws, Howard and Bernice Bozeman; brother-in-law, Elton Bozeman; sister-in-law, Linda Howell; and brother-in-law, Dorman Howell.

She is survived by her children, Rebecca LeCoq and her husband, Brian; Scott Bozeman; Brent Bozeman and his wife, Becky; grandchildren, Joshua LeCoq, Jonathan LeCoq, Blakely Bozeman, and Jackson Bozeman; brother, Jerry White and his wife, Ann; and sister-in-law, Patsy Bozeman.

Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Sartinville Church, 6 E Sartinville Rd, Jayess, Mississippi 39667, until funeral services at 11:00 a.m. with Joey Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Sartinville Church Cemetery. Hartman Hughes Capps Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers include Joshua LeCoq, Jonathan LeCoq, Thomas Bozeman, Noah McLaren, Mike Evans, and Lynn Harvey.

Honorary pallbearers are Brian LeCoq and Jackson Bozeman.

In lieu of flowers the Bozeman family would like to request donation be made to Sartinville Church in honor of Mrs. Jean Bozeman.
