Jaylie Sue Harris Smith, 88, of Houston, MS passed away Friday, April 24, 2026. She was born November 04, 1937, in Kokomo, MS to the late R J Harris and Elsie Turnage Harris. Along with her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband Doug Smith; brothers Aubrey Harris, Gilbert Harris, and Charlie Harris; and sister Vera Stafford.

Left to cherish her memory are daughters Paige Mills (Chris) and Amy Smith; favorite granddaughter and namesake Jaylie Victoria Mills McCulley (Wesley); sister Carole Williams; sisters-in-law Ann Harris and Ronnie Harris.

When Sue was younger, she enjoyed cooking and was known for her delicious desserts. Later in life she loved shopping, spending time with family, and crossword puzzles.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Capps Funeral Home, 270 Old Hwy 98 E. Tylertown, MS, from 11:00 AM until funeral service at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Brother Landon Lambert will officiate. Hartman Hughes Capps Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Wesley McCulley, Glenn Downs, Neil Sayes, Joel Sayes, Ben Sayes, Tim Williams, and Trent Collins.
