Funeral services for Susie A. Harris McCallum, 75, of Tylertown, MS will be held at Capps Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Blake McDaniel officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Interment will follow in the Tylertown Cemetery. She was a member of the Salem Baptist Church.
Mrs. McCallum went to her Heavenly Father on May 21, 2023. She was born January 13, 1948 in Prentiss, MS to the late Dwight and Nettie Harris of Rockport, MS.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Herbert Don McCallum, Sr.; parents Dwight and Nettie Harris of Rockport, MS; and sister Scottie Kupper of Ponchatoula, LA.
Mrs. McCallum grew up in Wesson, MS where she attended Copiah-Lincoln Community College and acquired her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing at the University of Southern Mississippi. She worked and loved her profession for 48 years.
She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with the family, traveling, gardening, reading, tailgating at USM football games, camping, and fishing.
Survivors include her daughter Mindy McCallum Mullins (Earnie) of Oxford, MS; son Herbert Don "Donnie" McCallum, Jr. of Tylertown, MS; grandchildren Sage Mullins (Maggie), McCall Mullins of Oxford, MS, and Kaleb Montgomery of McComb, MS; sisters Becky Lee (Bobby) of Tylertown, MS and Eleanor Gregg (Luther) of Brandon, MS; sister -in- law Joan Johnson (Winston) of McComb, MS; brother -in- law Danny McCallum (Karen) of Tylertown, MS; and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Sage Mullins, Kippy Kupper, Scott Kupper, Ronnie Rushing, Chris McCallum, Will Boyd, Josh McCallum, and Colt McCallum.
Honorary pallbearers will be David Derrick, Billy Boyd, and Homer Bennett.
