Funeral services for Sylvester Jordan, 84, of Tylertown, MS will be held at Hartman Hughes Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 12 noon with Brother Dwayne Wilson officiating. Burial in the Rushing Cemetery.

Mr. Jordan passed away at his residence in Tylertown, Mississippi on Wednesday, September 18, 2019. He was born January 7, 1935 in Lexie, Mississippi to the late Mary and Benjamin "Sam" Jordan. He is also preceded in death by an infant son David Jordan; sisters Ola Mae Anders, Pauline Smith and Carlean Caves, and brother Clinton Jordan.

Sylvester was a Mason 35 ^th degree. He would give you the shirt off his back, even to a stranger. Mr. Jordan was a hard-working man who loved to read and study his bible.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years Derena Jordan; children Anette Meyer, Donald (Shannon) Jordan, Clinton (Dawanna) Jordan, Doyle (Anita) Jordan, Delores (Timothy) Jernigan, Dena Beard, Doris (Scott) Holliday; 31 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; brother Thomas "Billy" Jordan; sister Jimmy Sager; son-in-law's Jody Beard and Joseph Meyer; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and loving family.

Pallbearers are Ryan Holmes, Evan Holmes, Clint Jordan, Bill Jones, Jimmy Jones, and Glen David Jones. Honorary pallbearers are Aaron Rowell, Ylisha Jordan, Kaleb Jordan, Garrett Evans, and Ronnie Mattingly.

Visitation will be at Hartman-Hughes Chapel on Saturday, September 21, 2019 from 10:00 AM until service time at 12 noon.
