Thad Edwin Brumfield, 87 of Columbia, Mississippi passed away Thursday, November 24, 2022 at the Asbury Hospice House in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He was born Friday, November 1, 1935 in Tylertown, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 28, 2022 from 10:30 AM until funeral service at 12 noon at Mesa Baptist Church in Tylertown, Mississippi.  Burial will follow at 2:00 PM at Woodlawn Cemetery in Columbia, Mississippi. Reverend Clay Spinks will officiate. Capps Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Thad was a faithful member of Mesa Baptist Church; were he served as a decan and sang in the choir. He was an all-around caring and compassionate gentleman. Mr. Thad enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and was a highly talented cook.

He was preceded in death by his wife Lyndell Ann Sullivan Brumfield; father Seth Brumfield; and mother Hilda Powe Brumfield; and brother C N Brumfield.

Survivors include his son Lank Brumfield; daughters Anita Lawrence (David), Laurie Dryer and Jane Rouse; grandchildren Michael Brumfield and Melissa Hughes; great grandchildren J. J. Brumfield and Tatum Brumfield; brother Dale Brumfield; and sister Vivian Rosetti.
