Funeral services for Mrs. Thelma Pittman, 92, of Tylertown, will be held at 11 A.M on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Salem Baptist Church with the Reverend Mark Wicker and Dr. Ricky Gray officiating. Burial will be in the Tylertown Cemetery.
Mrs. Pittman passed away at the Billdora Senior Care Center in Tylertown on Sunday, March 25, 2018. She was born April 17, 1925 in Darbun Community to the late Earnest Fulton and Bertha Magee Thompson. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Percy Pittman; granddaughter Rebecca; sisters Lexie Pierce, Doris Warren, and Myrtle Griffin; and brother Clyde Thompson.
She was a member of Salem Baptist Church and had worked at Rutter Rex in Franklinton, Louisiana for 27 years. She enjoyed camping, working in the yard, gardening—especially her tomato plants--, and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her son Earnest Pittman (Patsy); daughter Jewell Faye Gray (Ricky); grandchildren William Shane Pittman (Claire), Katrina Miller (Tony), Chris Gray (Andrea), Joel Gray (Lauren), and Michael Gray (Skye); great- grandchildren Barrett Miller, Oren Ryan Wade, Andrew Preston Miller, Hannah Claire Gray, Ava Gray, Tripp Gray, Blake Gray, and Rivers Gray; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Pallbearers will be Chris Gray, Joel Gray, Michael Gray, Tony Miller, Frank Brumfield, and Carey Boyd.
Visitation will be at Salem Baptist Church on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 from 5 – 8 P.M. and on Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until service time there at 11:00 A.M.
