Vince Edgar "Buddy" Martin

August 15, 1943 – May 11, 2024

Vince Edgar "Buddy" Martin was born to Herbert & Willie Mae Martin on August 15, 1943 and entered his eternal home on May 11, 2024. Buddy is preceded in death by his daddy Herbert Otha Martin & mama Willie Mae Rimes Martin, wife Diane Martin; his sister Vera Mae Vince; and brother Ralph Martin.

He is survived by his 2 boys Dwayne Martin (Angela) and Daniel Martin (Sarah);  7 grandchildren, Eli Martin (Michaelah), Mary-Riley Martin Breaux (Chaz), Samuel Martin, Bain Martin, Marlee Martin, McCord Martin and Lucy Martin;  1 great grandchild Layla Mae Martin; nephew Bird Martin (Bo) and niece Beverly Kelley (Gary) that he loved as his own; along with a host of great nieces, nephews, friends and loving family.

He enjoyed bird hunting and fishing. Buddy lived his life by example. He loved the Lord his God and Jesus Christ his personal Lord & Savior. He loved Salem Baptist Church where he was a member all of his life. He loved Salem School where you could always find him cheering on his Wildcats. He loved the people of Walthall County where he served many years as a volunteer fire fighter & reserve deputy, but he especially loved his boys& his grandbabies.

He will be greatly missed but we will catch glimpses of him in Eli's  servant heart, Mary-Riley's fierce loyalty, Samuel's charming mischievousness, Bain's big heart & love for others, McCord's playfulness & ability to bring a smile, Marlee's generous spirit, Lucy's compassion for all' but especially an underdog, and Layla's exploring curiousness nature. While our hearts are broken we celebrate what we know was a glorious homecoming. "It looks good from the crossroads."

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 from 9:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM,  Salem Baptist Church in 886 MS-27 North, Tylertown, Mississippi with Bro. Mark Wicker officiating. Burial will follow in Boyd Cemetery. Hartman Hughes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Dwayne Martin, Daniel Martin, Eli Martin, Samuel Martin, Nathan Wicker, and Justin Boyd.

Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Boyd, Speedy Andrews, Stanley Brumfield, Charlie Rushing, Bradley McKenzie, Lealon Spence Jr., Larry Joe Rayborn, Sandy Sandifer, and Curtis Rimes.
