Mr. McDaniel passed away at Asbury Hospice House in Hattiesburg, Mississippi on Sunday, July 4, 2021. He was born November 29, 1944 in Tylertown, Mississippi to the late Inez and Berlie Ben McDaniel. Along with his parents he was also preceded in death by his brother Rex McDaniel; sister Peggy McDaniel; niece Karen McDaniel; brother-in-law Gene Freeman; father-in-law Nat Stogner; and mother-in-law Hettie Mae Stogner.

Mr. Wayne was the longtime owner and operator of Stogner's Dairy Bar in Tylertown, Mississippi. He served as a coach for many years for the Walthall Dixie Youth Baseball League. Wayne enjoyed playing softball, hunting, fishing, and traveling. He was also an avid fan of Ole Miss sports and New Orleans Saints football.

Survivors include his wife Rosemary McDaniel; children Connie (Kirk) Johnston and Brian McDaniel; grandchildren Brandon Boyd and William Johnston; great grandchildren Remington Boyd and Madelynn Johnston; siblings Mary "Tip" Freeman, Ricky (Jill) McDaniel, Scotty McDaniel, and Sharon Copeland; sisters-in-law Beckie McDaniel and Linette Taylor; along with a host of friends and loving family.
