Obituary

Funeral services for Mr. William "Bill" Johnston, 84, of Tylertown, MS will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 05, 2019 at Capps Funeral Home in Tylertown, MS with Rev. Jimmy T. Smith, Jr. and Rev. Dr. John J. McEwen officiating.  Burial will be in the Hillcrest Memorial Garden.

Mr. Johnston passed away at Asbury House, in Hattiesburg, MS on Tuesday, January 01, 2019. He was born October 16, 1934 in Kansas to the late William and Ashta Johnston. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his infant son Timothy Johnston and sister Elsie Young.

Bill was a member of Union Baptist Church, were he was active in RA's. He helped with the building of the Union Christin Academy and the maintenance of the school. Mr. Johnston was an avid reader, loved the art of conversation, was always the first to lend a helping hand, and the Chef at home.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years Mildred Johnston; sons William (Alice) and Lawrence Johnston; grandchildren Zebulun (Amy) Johnston, Rachael Johnston, and Michelle (Andrew) Tidwell; Great grandchildren Logan Johnston, Wyatt Johnston, and Uriah Tidwell; brothers Bob, Ernie, and Larry Johnston; sister Ane Parrish; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and loving friends.

Visitation will be at Capps Funeral Home in Tylertown, MS on Friday, January 04, 2019 from

5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. and on January 05, 2019 at 12 noon until service time at 1:00 P.M.
