Obituary

William Brett Stogner

May 18, 1960 – January 11, 2021

Funeral services for William Brett Stogner, 60, of Sandy Hook, MS will be held at on Friday, January 15, 2021 at 1:30 PM in front of the Carson Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Archie Herrin, Rev. Jerry Terrell and Darron Terrell officiating.

Brett is survived by his parents John Ralph and Perry Nell Stogner of Sandy Hook, MS; his three sons Cody Jay Stogner, Ty (Caley) Stogner, Malachi Stogner; two stepsons Christian (Skylar) Gilmore and Benjamin (Courtney) Gilmore; two stepdaughters Brittany Shinn and Lindsey Farris; one daughter-in-law Brandi Stogner; two grandkids Cruz Stogner and Zoey Claire Tatum; two brothers John Ray (Melette) Stogner and Darryl "Crumb" Brumfield; two sisters Kim (Matt) Thomas and Debbie (Patrick) Kennedy or according to Brett "Doober". Also many special nieces, nephews, and lots of close dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Ann Stogner and one son Danon Brett Stogner; grandparents Marshall and Irene Stogner and Hoyt Sr. and Bobbie Boyd.

Brett resided in Sandy Hook, MS (Lil Improve Community) all his life. He spent his whole life around big trucks and loved them with every fiber of his being. Every job he ever had was dealing with trucks. He also loved animals and always surrounded himself with plenty of them including his dogs Josie Bear and Roxanne, two donkeys and Lulu the goat. Brett was a very sweet, tender hearted      person that loved everybody; and all his friends that he called brothers loved him. If you really knew him, you loved him. Brett had a sense of humor like no other. His favorite thing to do was to play practical jokes on his family and friends. He was always calling and disguising his voice; pretending to be someone else just to play a joke. A perfect example would be the year that he caught our brother John Ray and nephew Robbie's baby pot belly pigs and wrapped them up for a Christmas present. He got the biggest laugh out of it when they realized it was their own pigs. There was only one Brett Stogner and he will forever be missed.

Pallbearers are Kenny Wayne Thomas, Robbie Stogner, Zach Thomas, Rocky Rockco, Christian Gilmore, and Benjamin Gilmore.

The family asks that masks be worn and CDC guidelines be followed for the funeral.

Visitation will be at Carson Springs Baptist Church on Friday, January 15, 2021 from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM with services to follow and graveside after that.
