Graveside services for Willie McCallum, 99, of Tylertown, Mississippi will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, May 11, 2020 at Tylertown Cemetery with Rev. Mark Wicker officiating.
He passed away at his granddaughter's home in Jayess, Mississippi on Thursday, May 7, 2020. He was born March 11, 1921 in Smith County, Mississippi to the late Mary and William McCallum. He is also preceded in death by his son Don McCallum.
Mr. McCallum was a member of Salem Baptist Church. He was also a local Mason and a member of the Walthall County Hospital Board. But first and foremost, he was a Marine, he served our country and received a purple heart for doing so. He lived by and loved the marine code. His other hobbies were fox hunting which he had done all his life, traveling, and meeting new people. He would love to meet someone and try to find out who their parents were and just get to know them and make a new friend along the way.
Survivors include his wife of 78 years Allos McCallum; son Danny (Karen) McCallum; daughter Joan (Dude) Johnson;7 grandchildren Brigitte (Jason) Foulk ,Brandi (Tracey) Hill Chris (Jennifer) McCallum, Josh McCallum, Colton McCallum, Mindy (Ernie) Mullins, and Donnie McCallum; 11 great-grandchildren Blake Loup, Mason McCallum, Easton McCallum, Ashlynn Gautreau, Taylor Gautreau, Morgan Whittington, Sydney Whittington, Payton Hill, Sage Mullins, McCall Mullins, Caleb McCallum; 1 daughter -in-law Susie McCallum; 1 special friend Jim Foulk; along with a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and loving family.
Pallbearers are Donnie McCallum, Jim Foulk, Jason Foulk, Chris McCallum, Josh McCallum, and Colton McCallum.
